ABOUT US
The Bookworm is a locally owned independent used bookstore. We have a great selection of gently used fiction and non-fiction books. Our collection includes science fiction, fantasy, adventure/spy, literary fiction, mystery and suspense, Canadian literature, christian fiction, romance, historical fiction, westerns, the classics, etc. For the lovers of non-fiction we have books on history, war and conflict, self-help, parenting, gardening, spirituality, memoirs and biographies, etc. Our store also has a separate area for children's books and young adult books.
THE BOOKWORM MAGAZINE RECYCLE PROGRAM
The Bookworm has a magazine exchange program where you can trade your current magazines or pick from our collection and donate to charity. During the past two and a half years our customers have contributed approximately $1000 towards our monthly charities.
Charities which benefited include: A Safe Place (Strathcona Shelter Society Ltd), Strathcona Christmas Bureau, Strathcona Food Bank, Missing Children Society of Canada, Canadian Cancer Society, Rwanda Development Program, Strathcona County Adult Literacy Program, the Sherwood Park Care Centre, the Youth Emergency Shelter, The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, Cerebral Palsy Association of Alberta, the Sherwood Park Club, Basically Babies, The Arthritis Society, The Canadian Paraplegic Association, The Mustard Seed, the Robin Hood Association for the Handicapped , STARS, and postage to send books to South Africa.
CUSTOMER REQUESTS
If there is a particular title that you are having difficulty locating, we can always add it to our request list. If and when that book comes in, we will notify you. Your request will be kept on file for 6 months. You may call us at 780-464-5522 or e-mail us at bkworm@telus.net
