ABOUT US

At The Bookworm, we buy, sell, and trade gently used books.  Our customers are encouraged to help themselves to a complimentary cup of cider or tea and browse.  We have a great selection of both fiction and non fiction material.  Our children's corner has a variety of gently used books for all ages.  It also has a large comfy chair where you can read to your little ones or, if you prefer, just relax while they look at books.

STORE POLICIES

We accept books according to current store needs and client requests.  We ask that books be clean and in very good condition.  Because of limited space we can only take one copy of most titles and rarely accept fiction in hardcover. For books that we can accept, you will receive either 25% store credit or 10% cash of the cover price.  Should you choose credit, you may either use the whole amount to purchase books in the store or if you prefer you may use the credit at another time.  There is no expiry date on the credit.

MAGAZINE RECYCLE PROGRAM

The Bookworm has a magazine exchange program where you can trade your current magazines or pick from our collection and donate to charity.   During the past year our customers have contributed over $300 toward various charities.  Charities which benefited from The Bookworm Magazine Exchange Program include A Safe Place (Strathcona Shelter Society Ltd), Strathcona Christmas Bureau, Strathcona Food Bank, Missing Children Society of Canada, Canadian Cancer Society, Rwanda Develpment Program, Strathcona County Adult Literacy Program and the Sherwood Park Care Centre.  Our charity for this month is the Youth Emergency Shelter.

CUSTOMER REQUESTS

If there is a particular title that you are having difficulty locating, we can always add it to our request list.  If and when that book comes in, we will notify you.  Your request will be kept on file for 6 months.  You may call us at 780-464-5522 or e-mail us at bkworm@telus.net

If you are looking for the perfect gift for an avid reader, we have gift certificates which can be purchased in any denomination.
